Bed Bath & Beyond Reveals List of 149 Stores to Close
Bed Bath & Beyond has recently unveiled the 149 locations that are going to be closed down. This news comes just a week after the company announced the closure of 87 other stores.
Over the recent months, the company has either closed or is in the process of closing about 400 locations, including all 5 buy Baby stores and the remaining 49 Harmon Face Value stores.
As a result, the number of Bed Bath & Beyond stores are reducing from 760 to around 360, with the most profitable stores in important markets being kept open. At its peak in 2017, the company had 1,552 stores.
This week’s list of closures includes 13 states that were not present in last week’s list of closures. These states are Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Wisconsin.
Despite being close to bankruptcy, the company has managed to avoid Chapter 11 by completing a stock offering, which will provide it with an immediate $225 million and a future pledge of $800 million to pay down its debt.
