Brendan Rodgers Reveals Latest on James Maddison’s Injury Ahead of Arsenal Clash

Brendan Rodgers, the manager of Leicester City, has confirmed that James Maddison’s participation in the Premier League clashes against Arsenal on Saturday is uncertain. Arsenal is currently leading the league table, with two points ahead of Manchester City, who sits in the second position with a game in hand.

The Gunners will visit the King Power Stadium to play against Leicester, who are currently in the 14th spot before this weekend’s fixtures. Leicester may have to play without Maddison, their star player, who has been dealing with a knee issue this season. Rodgers updated on the situation during Thursday’s pre-match press conference, stating that the decision would be made after assessing Maddison’s condition on Friday.

Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta will also miss one of their crucial players in the match. Their first-choice striker Gabriel Jesus is currently out of the game due to his knee injury, which is more severe than Maddison’s. Jesus suffered medial ligament damage during Brazil’s 2022 World Cup campaign in Qatar.

Arteta provided an update on his recovery process last week, saying that he is progressing well and has been doing a lot of work on the ball. Jesus has scored five goals and provided five assists in his 14 league appearances for Arsenal after joining the club from Manchester City the last summer.
